RACE stands for Registry of Approved Continuing Education. It is a program of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB).
RACE program is used by veterinary medical professionals (veterinarians, veterinary technicians/technologists) to obtain continuing education (CE) before re-licensure/re-registration.
In order to provide CE credit and individual RACE certificate of attendance, it is necessary to ensure each program presented meets the RACE requirements and Standards. Requirements might include:
- Post-course test with a minimum of five questions
- Additional five questions per CE credit
- Participant needs to achieve 70% grade or higher on the post-course test
Please note that though a course may be RACE approved, each jurisdiction has its own restrictions/requirements for calculating CE credit and maximum allowed CE credit depending on method of delivery. Online self/study courses are categorized as Non-Interactive-Distance. Those include online courses with no scheduled date of participation. Please contact your jurisdiction for details.
